Itinerary: 9 days Morocco tour from Marrakech to the imperial cities and desert

Day 1: Arrival to Marrakech with an Airport Transfer

You will be welcomed at the Airport in Marrakech, then we’ll drive to your Riad or Hotel with overnight.

Day 2: Explore Marrakech in a Full day Guided City Tour

We will ensure that you will see the most important sites of historical and cultural interest including the Koutoubia tower, the Medrassa Ben Youssef, the Jamaa El Fna square place and the Bahia Palace. Afternoon, we will continue to explore the new part of Marrakech called Gueliz with a car. After having lunch we take you to visit the Majorelle Gardens and Mueseum of Yves Saint Laurent.

Overnight at the Riad

Day 3:Depart to Dades Gorges through the High Atlas Mountains, visit Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou and Ouarzazate

After breakfast at the Riad, we will drive to Dades gorges, by crossing the High Atlas mountains and ‘Tizi N’tichka’ pass , which is the highest road pass in Morocco at 2260m altitude. Stops at a various panoramic views in order to take pictures and admire the landscape. Guided visit of the Ksar of Aït Ben Haddou, a Kasbah of the 16th century recognized by the Unesco, here we will stay for lunch in a local restaurant. Afterwards, we will continue our journey to Ouarzazate (The African Hollywood), where we will visit the Atlas Studios of Cinema and Taourirte Kasbah. Then we will drive to the Roses valley through the way of 1000 Kasbahs. Overnight and Dinner at Dades Valley, in the upper Gorges.

Day 4: Visit the Todra Gorges and head to Merzouga, camel Trek and night in the Camp at Erg Chebbi Desert

After Breakfast, we will drive to Todra Gorges (the grand moroccan canyon), famous for rock climbing at its rock walls that rise to 300m in a narrow part, here you will have a walk to smell the real nature of green agricultural lands and wide river. We will continue down to Erfoud, famous for its fossilized marbles, where you will have the opportunity to visit a workshop produces Merble fossiles. We will arrive to Merzouga at the evening, You will be welcomed with a cup of tea and spend an excellent night in the nomad desert camp. You will experience the camel ride to join the camp and get back to the vehicle the next day. While you enjoying the show of the sunset till you arrive to the Bivouac, you will have a private tent, the tents are well equipped with mattresses, blankets,cushions and also private toilets. You will be served a delicious Moroccan dinner, after that you will gather around the fire to admire a typical Berber music performed using drums under the sky full of stars.

Day 5:Sunrise over the Dunes, following Lunch in Midelt we Continue to Fez through Ifrane

Wake up early in the morning to enjoy the view of the sunrise over the dunes. After a hearty moroccan Breakfast and shower, we will take a camel ride back to the vehicle (possibility with 4WD) we will leave for Ziz valley, stop for you to admire a wonderful panoramic view of Ziz palm oasis and Ziz gorges. Lunch will be in Midelt, then we will continue to Azrou by crossing the Middle Atlas mountains with its cedar forest, where we will find wild monkeys waiting for you to feed them. Before we arrive to Fez, we will stop for a while to have rest in Ifrane, the European-style town called also Switzerland of Morocco. At the evening we will arrive to Fez, Overnight at the Riad.

Day 6:Guided City Tour to Explore the Imperial City of Fez, and head to Chefchaouen

Guided visit of Fez, the oldest of the imperial cities, home to the world’s first university dating from the 9th century and one of the most complete medieval cities in existence, founded in 790 A.D. Seeming to exist somewhere between the middle ages and today, the Soul of Morocco stimulates the senses with its visual details, haunting sounds and rich aromas. Guided visit of medieval Medina, Karaouine University, Medersa Attarine, Kingdom Palace, souks. Spend the night at the Riad.

Afternoon we arrive to the ‘Blue Town’ where for every shop selling tourist gifts; shoe repairs, groceries, stationery and sweets, a tailor sewing an elegant djellaba, butchers, bakers (one of the centers of life in each area) although candle-stick makers don’t seem to have survived – Moroccan life as lived by the people of Chaouen. And don’t ignore the new town, which has some lovely examples of Andalusian architecture and a charming park at the end of Avenida Mohammed V.

Day 7:Visit the blue City of Chefchaouen and spend the night in Rabat the Capital of Morocco

After breakfast, we will explore the Charming city of Chefchaouen, the beautiful  brims with attractions. Its heritage is rich. The inescapable Medina with its famous narrow winding alleys, is an opportunity to mingle with the local population, and to smell and taste delights: from freshly baked bread, to skillfully prepared tagines. There is also the Kasbah which stands in the middle of the old quarter: its lush gardens, located in the center of the city, are a haven of freshness. Its museum, which is home to a collection of old weapons, some photos of the city, and textiles, is a must-see.

Day 8:Visit Rabat and the Hassan II Mosque in Casablanca, onwards to the imperial City Of Marrakech

After having breakfast we will start the visit of Rabat, the capital of Morocco where you will have a 2 hours visit of Hassan Mosque, a wonder of the medieval Moorish world with its great minaret left unfinished when its founder died in 1199, the Chellah necropolis and Oudaya Kasbah.

Continue to Casablanca where you will have a lunch then we the visit Hassan II Mosque, the Corniche, Mohammed V place, United Nations place, law court, the prefecture, central post office. Afternoon, we drive back to Marrakech and spend the night in the Riad.

Day 9:Depart to Marrakech Airport

Depart to the airport ( You need to be at the airport at least 2 hours before your flight, so your departure will be organized accordingly).
