Itinerary: Discover Morocco in 8 days tour through Atlantic Coast

Day 1: Arrive: Marrakesh airport transfer

You will be welcomed at the international airport of Marrakesh. Our driver will wait for you outside at the main entrance of the airport then we will drop you off at the Hotel for check-in.

Day 2:Essaouira coastal city: seaside ramparts and fresh seafood

Leave the busy city behind, and make your way west to the Atlantic coast and to the laid-back beach town of Essaouira. The route along the way takes you over extensive rolling plains and through endemic argan forests. If you’re lucky, you may see goats in the trees grazing on the argan fruit, a sight seen when grass pasture is limited or unavailable. Along the way, there is an option to stop at an Argan Oil Cooperative to see how the precious and expensive oil is extracted from the nut.

Arrive in the port city of charming Essaouira, a nice contrast to frenetic Marrakech, and spend the rest of the day as you choose. Walk the Skala de la Kasbah (the 18th-century seafront ramparts) along the coast. Designed by European engineers, old brass canons line the walls and offer viewing access over the Atlantic. Explore the UNESCO-protected medina before making your way to the windswept beach. Walk near to the sea and enjoy a meal of freshly caught seafood

Overnight at the Hotel.

Day 3:Atlantic coastal tour from Essaouira to Agadir

Morning departure from Essaouira towards Agadir. Visit the Sidi Kaouki beach; its undisturbed sand dunes and Argan shrubs make this beach one of the most beautiful in all of Morocco. The beach of Taghazout, a paradise for surfers, offers excellent sea views and the pleasures of fresh Atlantic Ocean air. Visit the beach of Taghazout and see the new city of Agadir. Night in Hotel.

Day 4:Morning in Agadir and afternoon in Sidi Ifni

Continue the journey to the laid back city of Sidi Ifni. The Spanish flavor and Art Deco architecture makes for a relaxed and stimulating visit. Travel onward to the village of Tiznit, where the locals dress in traditional costume and sell hand made Berber jewelry. Night in Hotel.

Day 5:Tafraout: nature and culture through the Anti-Atlas

We continue our Atlantic Coast tour to the Anti Atlas, where we visit the towns of G’limime and Tafraout. The area is known for almond trees, Argan oil, and the production of babouches (a traditional Moroccan leather shoe). Close the day with a relaxing walk in the Amen Valley – where weather-worn boulders change from pink to gray to gold depending on the time of day. Night in Hotel.

Day 6: From Tafraout to Taroudant through Ighrem, Berber villages & Anti-atlas

After breakfast, depart to Ighrem through the anti-Atlas to discover Berber villages and the valley of almond trees. After Ighrem we will cross the valley of Tazagzaoute with its procession of palm trees. Visit of Igudar, collective granaries used centuries ago by Amazigh communities. Used to keep anything from grains, food, to jewelry, weapons, and legal documents. Igudarare are considered to be the world’s oldest form of banking.

Arrival in Taroudant at the end of the day. Night and dinner at the hotel.

Day 7:Taroudant, high Atlas mountains, Marrakesh

We leave Taroudant via the Test Pass and see the Berber Mosque – the Tin Mal. It is one of the mosque that can be visited for non Muslims. Late afternoon we arrive to Marrakech and overnight at the Hotel

Day 8:Marrakesh sightseeing - Evening departure to Marrakesh international airport
