Itinerary: 14 Days Grand Morocco Tour from Casablanca

Day 1:Casablanca airport transfer, Visit the Mosque Hassan II, overnight in Rabat

Upon arrival at Casablanca International Airport, our courteous driver will be waiting for you at the main entrance holding a sign with your name. Your driver will assist you with your luggage and escort you to your hotel in Rabat for check-in.

If your flight arrives early, we’ll take advantage of the time and explore the city of Casablanca starting with the Hassan II Mosque. This iconic mosque is situated on the ocean and boasts the tallest minaret in the world, standing at 690 feet (210 m). The mosque is particularly special as non-Muslim visitors are permitted to enter and explore its stunning hand-carved stone and wood designs, intricate marble floors, and impressive gilded ceilings.

After the tour, we’ll make our way to Rabat, the capital city of Morocco, where you’ll spend the night in your hotel.

Day 2: Visit Rabat the capital of Morocco, Roman Ruins at Volubilis and Meknes, Overnight in Fez

Begin your day after breakfast with a visit to the fascinating Chellah Necropolis, an impressive medieval fortification, where you can explore a range of Roman and Islamic ruins. Then, take a stroll through the grand entrance of the Kasbah des Oudaias and enter Rabat’s old city center. Discover the charming Andalusian Gardens, a peaceful oasis offering a welcome respite from the bustling city crowds. Continue on to visit the iconic Hassan Tower, a 12th-century minaret and center of the incomplete mosque and Mausoleum of Mohamed V, where you can marvel at 200 columns and other remaining support structures.

Next, embark on your journey towards the imperial city of Fez, pausing along the way to immerse yourself in the UNESCO-protected Volubilis ruins—the farthest reach of the Roman Empire in Africa. Explore the complex, delving into the ancient history of merchant homes boasting still-intact heating systems, awe-inspiring temples, and a plethora of mosaics that remain intact to this day.

Your journey continues to the charming and less crowded city of Meknes, offering a unique glimpse into the second historic imperial city of Morocco. Your first stop is the compelling Ville Impériale or Imperial City, a stunning landmark providing a glimpse into the past, followed by a visit to the bustling medina. Must-visit highlights include the iconic Bab al-Mansour gate, the awe-inspiring Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail, and the historic Royal Stables, brimming with tales of Morocco’s glorious past.

Arrive to Fez and drop you off at the Hotel for check-in

Day 3:Explore the Imperial City of Fez

Dedicate a day to exploring Fez, the oldest of Morocco’s imperial cities, boasting the world’s first university established in the 9th century and an impeccably preserved medieval city founded in 790 A.D. Delving into its heart, you will discover a unique blend of old-world charm and modern-day vibrancy, engaging your senses with every turn through its fascinating visual, aural, and olfactory details. Your guided tour takes you through the captivating medieval Medina, the prestigious Karaouine University, the enchanting Medersa Attarine, the opulent Kingdom Palace, the historic Ben Danan synagogue, and the lively souks – a delightful feast for the senses.

Day 4:Onwards to Merzouga through Midelt, visit Ifrane and Erfoud, camel trek and night in  the Camp

Embark on an early-morning journey toward Merzouga after a hearty breakfast. As you wind your way south, you’ll traverse the cedar forests of Middle Atlas mountains and enjoy sightings of Barbary Macaque monkeys while ascending Col du Zad pass at 7,146 feet (2,178 m) above sea level. Pause for lunch in Midelt, fondly called the ‘apple city’, situated near Moulouya River, before proceeding over Tizi n’Talremt pass and delving into the picturesque Ziz Valley, renowned for its hidden oases and palm tree clusters. You’ll pass by numerous fortified ksars, which were constructed to safeguard valuable commodities like gold, salt, and spices. As you move toward Erfoud, famous for its date festival and fossil mining, take the opportunity to learn about the craft from local artisans at a nearby collective. Finally, you’ll arrive at Erg Chebbi, a 13.5 square-mile (35 square km) expanse of sand dunes that are always on the move.

Day 5:4WD Excursion over the dunes, visit nomade family & Khamlya village, taste the Medfouna local pizza

Witness the sunrise and embark on an adrenaline-fueled 4WD excursion through the sand dunes, exploring an oasis and touring the town of Khamlia MIFISS mines. Moreover, you will have the opportunity to connect with the Berber nomads of the desert. Recharge with a scrumptious lunch of local PIZAA with MEDFOUNA at a typical restaurant before relaxing and driving back to your comfortable hotel with a swimming pool in Merzouga. Enjoy a sumptuous dinner upon your return, and spend the night at the cozy abode.

Day 6:Merzouga to Ouarzazate through Dades valley

Indulge in a hearty breakfast before embarking on a breathtaking journey westwards. Pass through the dramatic gate of Rissani, a lively market town boasting a unique livestock auction and a fascinating “donkey parking lot”. Make your way to the charming desert town of Tinghir and marvel at the stunning 984 feet (300 m) deep Todra Gorge at your own pace, while also taking a relaxing dip in the cool waters of the shallow Todra River.

Journey along the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, where you will come across various local families living in these historical dwellings. Witness nomads herding their animals as you continue west to Kela’a M’gouna, renowned for its scintillating Festival des Roses, and relish in the captivating farmlands brimming with fragrant rose bushes. Continue your unforgettable journey westward to Ouarzazate, where you will check-in to your hotel and enjoy a scrumptious dinner.

Take a studio tour and get a glimpse of how the gorgeous nearby desert landscapes have been featured in numerous films. After soaking up the sights, stop by Aït Ben Haddou, a stunning ksar decorated with stunning geometric patterns, and capture some amazing photographs.

In the afternoon, embark on an idyllic drive to Taroudant along the lush Souss Valley. En route, make a stop at Tazenakht, where you’ll be blown away by the sight of its luxurious carpets. Take some time to appreciate the intricate designs, and take a piece of this extravagant art back home as a souvenir. Eventually, arrive in Taroudant, where you’ll be spending the night.

Day 8:Explore Taroudant town
