Experience an exhilarating 4-day trip from Marrakech to Merzouga dunes, traversing the picturesque kasbahs, valleys, and majestic Atlas Mountains. Your journey kicks off with a morning pick-up from your Marrakech accommodation, followed by a comfortable ride in an air-conditioned minivan through the flourishing Haouz Plains that lead to the stunning High Atlas Mountains. Discover the charm of rural Berber villages and take the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka pass to get a breathtaking view of the mountain range.
Next, explore the mesmerizing UNESCO World Heritage site of Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, where locals have traded and socialized for centuries. You’ll have ample free time to visit the site and soak up its enchanting aura. The adventure continues as you head to Ouarzazate for a delightful lunch and a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah, a fortified palace that portrays traditional Moroccan architecture. Finally, you get to experience the beauty of the Valley of Roses, where you’ll cross the Berber villages of El Kelaa M’Gouna and Boumalene, which is where you’ll spend the night.
Awaken to an authentic breakfast, and prepare for an exciting adventure starting with a drive through the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the lunar landscape as we make our way to the town of Alnif. Journey onwards to Merzouga, passing through the captivating Berber village of Tinghir and the Todra Gorge, a charming village located at the border of the Sahara Desert. We’ll pass through several Berber villages before enjoying a lunch break at either Tinjdad or Rissani.
Meet your camel caravan and set off towards Erg Chebbi, as the sun begins its slow descent over the dunes. The highest in North Africa, the Erg Chebbi sand dunes present a captivating sight as we join the Berber campsites in the middle of the desert. Experience a once in a lifetime camel trek leading to your secluded camp which is nestled in the heart of the desert. Accompanied by traditional tamtam drumming from local nomads, indulge in mouthwatering dinner and relax under a star-lit sky before retiring to bed in your own oasis in the desert. Overnight, we will be camping in the Sahara Desert, with all meals included.
Don’t miss the opportunity to soak in the beauty of the desert with an early morning stroll over the dunes to catch the sunrise. Indulge in a hearty breakfast followed by a refreshing ride back to Merzouga on your trusty camel, before meeting your driver. Hop back aboard your vehicle to continue your journey through Alnif, Tazzarine, Nkob and the awe-inspiring Draa Valley, on route to Ouarzazate. Your overnight stay will be in a comfortable hotel, and all meals including breakfast and dinner are included.
